Sanyo PLC-SW20: Business Capable
I have owned my Sanyo PLC-SW20 for about 3-years now and I’ve gone through five projector lamps in that same amount of time. I originally bought this projector because I work in Lower Manhattan and found myself driving to Jersey for a lot of inter-company presentations. The company I work for has a satellite office in Jersey and their projector there must have been from 1995. Actually, the office is quite funny, its only used as a call-center and programming facility so it looks a little like Chucky Cheeses inside, not a professional work environment at all. Sort of a remnant from the internet-boom days when Pee-Wee’s Playhouse type offices were in vogue.Anyways, back to the Sanyo PLC-SW20. The projector is fairly light, around six pounds, but not by today’s standards (I bought the projector in 2002). It has a 350:1 contrast ratio, and a native 800x600 resolution, which can be bumped up to 1024x768 pixels at anytime. The projector is also HDTV compatible, but I haven’t ever used it for anything other than business presentations, mostly using Microsoft PowerPoint. And so naturally I can’t really comment on it DVD or television capabilities.
One warning I will offer regarding this projector, is on the projector lamp that comes with it. The brightness level of this lamp is 1000 ANSI lumens and it is rated a 150W UHP lamp. The projector lamp ID# is 6102938210. However, this lamp seems to go out more times than Paris Hilton or Jason Giambi. Like I said at the beginning of the article, I have had to replace my projector lamp five times since I bought the projector in 2002. I use the projector for around 6 hours a day, five days a week, but I don’t think that warrants having to replace my lamp 6 times! The good news is however, that I recently bought a projector lamp from this website. And already it has lasted one and a half times longer than the most durable lamp I purchased before from Sanyo. The projector lamp I bought from myprojectorlamps.com came in this really cool box, with amazing packaging and the lamp literally looked like a diamond when I took it out of the box. It makes my old lamp look like a skid mark.
So, in the end, if you can find an old Sanyo PLC-SW20 kicking around for a hundred bucks and you buy a projector lamp from this site, you should be able to wow that pants off of any potential client or customer.
